September Book of the Month

My highlighted book for September is a must read for anyone looking to start a business on a budget. I started my first business without loans and roughly $1000. You can do it with even less.

The book "The $100 Startup" by Chris Guillebeau was a great articulation of what I discuss with anyone looking to start a business. Not every idea or income stream needs to be a brand new product or industry disrupting service. Even more importantly, not every business needs to be started with loans or other debts weighing you down.

The $100 Startup highlights numerous ways to start a business, market your business, strategize for success, and when to move into the business full time. All while continuing your day job.

This is a book I keep on hand to circle back to and will eventually pass on to another aspiring entrepreneur who might not feel ready to take the next steps. All of the ideas and discussions in the book help remove the perceived barriers of entry to starting a business and highlights how achievable it actually is.

At a time when layoffs are in the news daily, corporations are forcing people back into the office, and happiness at jobs are declining, it may be the perfect time to take control of your income streams and start that business you have always wanted to run. What's stopping you?

Best,

Ricky
